ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our client is a well-established business who design and manufacture a range of integrated electronic products and systems for their customers. Undertaking R&D for manufacturing, these products are to be used within B2B commercial and consumer applications. The company, embracing emerging technologies within a growing global market, are currently looking to appoint an experienced Full Stack Developer to their team on a 3-month Fixed Term Contract basis. With a growing footprint and a sound history of quality products, they are seeking individuals that can contribute and support the ongoing evolution of their technology.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Software Development Lead, you will be assisting in the development of their mobile application that integrates with electronic IoT products and has a wide range of uses in a broad market.
As a contract engineer, you'll support development on the mobile applications and back-end services built on AWS serverless architecture. Key duties include.

• Contribute to React Native mobile application
• Write scalable maintainable and well tested TypeScript code
• Develop and maintain backend services using AWS Lambda and DynamoDB
• Support integrations with AWS IoT core
• Drive and implement frontend and backend updates driven by firmware requirements
• Assist with bug fixes performance tuning and deployment improvements

TECH STACK
• Mobile: React Native, TypeScript
• Backend: Node.js, AWS Lambda DynamoDB, S3 CloudWatch
• IoT: AWS IoT core (MQTT), custom smart hub firmware
• Integrations: Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Apple HomeKit
• DevOps / Tools: GitHub CI/CD pipelines, Jira TestFlight

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
To be considered for this position, it is critical that you are a Software Engineer with 3 – 5 years of full stack development experience and have proven experience with React Native and TypeScript. You will ideally be degree qualified within Software or Electronics Engineering and brings some experience with frontend and backend development. You will be comfortable working with Node.js and AWS serverless services and interpreting firmware specifications for the mobile app development, ideally for electronic IoT products.
