The Role
The Information Systems Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of business-critical systems, ensuring they align with organisational goals.
You will drive process improvements, support business analysis, and manage system enhancements while ensuring best-practice methodologies are applied. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to optimise system performance and support strategic IT initiatives.
You will have approximately 10 direct and indirect reports.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the development, implementation, and optimisation of business-critical systems, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
• Lead and support system enhancements, application development, and business process improvements using best-practice methodologies.
• Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and efficiency across Windows, Linux, and virtualised environments.
• Oversee database management, software development, and integration of enterprise applications, including SAP and in-house systems.
• Ensure effective version control, automation, and deployment processes using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
• Drive best-practice IT processes, governance, and compliance, including ITIL methodologies.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements, provide technical guidance, and drive system improvements.
• Lead system testing, user acceptance processes, and documentation to ensure high-quality implementations.
• Utilise advanced MS Excel skills for data analysis, reporting, and decision-making support.
• Foster a high-performance team culture, providing leadership, mentoring, and development opportunities.
Key Requirements
• Proven experience in information systems management, software development, or enterprise application support.
• Strong technical expertise in SQL, Java, Spring Framework, REST API development, and front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery).
• Experience with IT infrastructure, including Windows and Linux servers, O365, and virtualisation technologies such as VMware.
• Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and best-practice IT processes.
• Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Perforce, CVS) and build automation tools (e.g., Gradle, Maven).
• Experience with system integration, business process analysis, and enterprise application enhancements.
• Advanced MS Excel skills for data analysis, reporting, and decision-making.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to troubleshoot complex system issues.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
