They are looking for a Part-Time Management Accountant / Commercial Analyst with exceptional analytical skills to play a pivotal role in driving business success. This newly created position will leverage your previous experience to establish and develop robust processes for the business, with a primary focus on management and analytical functions. Your efforts will ensure the accuracy and reliability of budgets, forecasts, and cost analysis.
The Role:
Reporting directly to the Directors, you will take ownership of key management accounting, providing insightful analysis and actionable recommendations that directly impact the company’s performance and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and maintenance of cashflow forecasting
- Prepare and analyse budgets and forecasts, including variance analysis and insights
- Conduct job costing, pricing, margin, and manufacturing costing analysis
- Extract and analyse critical data to support strategic decision-making
- Provide financial insights to evaluate and improve performance
- Manage foreign currency risk (hedging FX)
- Monitor expenditures and manage non-stock supplier contracts
- Maintain and oversee fixed assets
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations
- Develop strategies to mitigate business risks and liabilities
- Continuously improve accounting systems and processes
- Over time may assist with the transition of Monthly/Quarterly/Yearly Financial Reporting from external accountant to in-house, including G/L, Balance Sheet, P&L, BAS, and FBT
The Candidate:
- Degree or TAFE qualifications essential
- Experience in planning and budgeting and variance analysis
- Strong analytical ability and problem-solving aptitude
- Hands on approach within this team environment
- Experience and highly confident setting up processes and procedures for all accounting functions
- A strong grasp of accounting principles, compliance, and financial reporting
- Proficiency with accounting software like Sage, MYOB, Xero, or similar
- Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks
- A proactive, team-oriented approach paired with strong communication skills
